We’re looking forward to 2012 and reminding everyone the venue has changed to the Rivercrest Banquet Facility for our eight monthly “Lunch and Learn” programs. If you’ve been before you need to visit again. They have redecorated and it looks lovely.
Due to the massive construction planned for downtown Main Street, and getting a better value on the meals offered, it was determined to try Rivercrest. The Holiday Luncheon and Auction in December will still be at a more prestigious location.
One of the many changes the new Board would like to see is more input from the membership.
We would like to know your “wants and needs” as far as Women’s Council is concerned. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience in our membership and would like to see more member involvement. We have many committees you could be a part of and your suggestions are welcome.
We have constructive programs planned for this year as well as what we’re calling “Pop-Up Workshops”.
These will be programs offered for a nominal fee in addition to the monthly meetings. The workshops will be held in different venues and on a floating schedule. As they approach more information will be forthcoming. (Thanks Teri at the Clarkston Chamber for the idea and name).
WE’RE CHANGING OUR NAME!
Well, a little anyway. We are surrounded by many under served areas ie.: Shelby, Washington Twp., Troy, Clarkston and Auburn Hills so we’d like to expand our membership. The Women’s Council of Realtors stays the same. The only thing that changes... Rochester. Even our Chamber of Commerce has had a name change to expand and include more areas.
Our Chapter is having a “Name the Chapter” contest with the prize being a year’s membership in our Chapter. So put your best idea on paper and submit it. The current Board will be voting on the top five and the membership will vote to select new name!
Clothing Drive
We will be having a clothing drive of your gently or never used business clothing to benefit the Clothes Closet at Neighborhood House in Rochester. This drive will help underprivileged men and women with clothing for interviewing for new jobs. Details will be announced soon.
